We are all trying our best to stay inside or social distance. Now in most places, HOME SCHOOL is a reality with the help of our local school systems.
Today I was thinking about some of the fun holidays, as I was watching my friends do a DRIVE BY birthday party for their 8 year old.
Kids are here with us at home and they don’t stop saying the same things we used to say as kids, “Mom, there is nothing to doooooooo.”
Structure is good. My daughter (14) has learned to cook her own food (having one night she picks what we all eat and helps prepare it), loads or unloads the dishwasher as a part of prep and clean every night. We have done this for years and now she cleans her own room, washes her own clothes (yes I shrunk them ONCE) and her room is minimalist clean (something I don’t relate to) but she has grown into that kid who wants to vacuum once a week and I rarely have to ask about homework.
These things are great, and now is a great time to implement good habits at home of self discipline in addition to what they are learning with online curriculum and daily deadlines.
Most important to me is them interacting with US as family units.
ART is a GREAT way to break the ice, especially for pre-teens. This calendar is a fun way to have one interaction of FUN time with your child (and nurture your own creative spirit) every day this month.
I created and wanted to share this fun daily calendar (a week into April as last week I was still out in the “real estate” hat that I still also wear but from a distance).
It is based on these and other fun holidays that you can celebrate EVERY DAY with family and friends.
If your school or program has a FREE creative outlet or art curriculum you would like to share tag it with #stayartsyathome @allisonpadams (instagram), @artallie (twitter) or email me and I will post them here in notes for my readers.

If all goes well, I will create one for May. My birthday month…one of those I am not even sure what it is…but know it is a number I don’t want to name. LOL. I am all for staying young, at heart and mind ~ Send me a pic someone draws of a birthday cake around May 3! That would be AWESOME!
